Make the phone part of playing together.
Tumble Tides is an original browser party game for two to six players. One screen shows the island; phones and tablets become the controllers.
The idea is to turn devices people already have into a shared, playful experience.
A browser can do more than show a page.
The experience combines a Three.js island, a Node.js server, and real-time multiplayer interaction across seven minigames.
That means thinking about the whole journey: getting players connected, explaining the controls, coordinating what each screen shows, and keeping the group in the same game.
The game makes no external requests at runtime, keeping the experience self-contained.
Built to take on a different identity.
A custom edition for Goodwin Learning Academy adapts the game with the school’s colors, mascot, and friendly language.
That work demonstrates how a shared technical foundation can support a distinct branded experience, whether for a community, an event, or an organization.
Serious engineering. A playful result.
Tumble Tides shows another side of the studio: interactive 3D, cross-device experiences, and software people use together.
The portfolio preview is captured from the live game. Open the live game to see and play the actual experience.
